A meeting between the federal and state governments will take place next week on Monday to discuss the modalities for school resumption. All state education commissioners are to take part in the meeting, which will be chaired by Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu.

A corresponding invitation was published on Sunday evening by the State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, Arc. Sony Echono.

At the top of the agenda for the expected meeting is the invitation to review new exam schedules for the West African Exam Council, WAEC, National Exam Council, NECO, National Exams for Common Entrance, and BECEC.

The invitation to the meeting, which is expected to take place via Zoom, was: “Invitation to a webinar advisory meeting between the FME and the Hon Commissioners of Education. The PS, Federal Ministry of Education, Arc Sonny Echono, cordially invites the honorable education officers of the 36 states and the FCT to a consultation meeting on the way to reopening our schools.

“In particular, the agenda for a new schedule for WAEC, NECO, BECEC and the national common entrance will be on the table, among other things.
