For applicants of N-power programme who took their time to go through the contents that constituted the form they filled online, they will realize that some questions are weighty and highly sensitive in the form.

It has to be so because of the surge in the number of desperate youths who had already queued to join the train of the social investment programme of the federal government.

As of Monday July 6th, the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management which oversees the scheme had announced that over 3million applications have already been received for a job meant for only 500,000 youths.

Till now, registration is still ongoing and will continue to be until it is officially declared closed by the ministry and shut down the site.

As a way of pruning down applicants to accommodate the exact number of people that are needed, certain technical questions have to be answered in the course of filling the form.

However, it takes a deep thinker to know that the question is actually part of the screening process that will either open the door to the next stage or mark the end of journey for applicants.

The question says:

“How many people are currently depending on you for survival?”

This question as simple as it may appear, will certainly make or mar the chance of majority of applicants in moving up to the next stage of the process.

What it simply indicates is that the number of people that are feeding on you will determine the urgency of the job and the impact the money will have on you.

In other word, if you are married with one kid, you are considered to have fallen within the circle of those the programme is meant to cater for and your chance of securing the offer is relatively high.

If you are married with two or more kids, you are not expected to apply because there is no how the salary will meet your demand and take care of your family responsibilities.

And if you are single and living alone, you are also not expected to apply because the whole essence will be defeated. It is believed that the only thing you will do with your pay is to eat and live an extravagant life.

Remember, the pay is just 30,000 naira per month but it really means a lot of money to the federal government that will have to pay it for 500,000 people on monthly basis in combination with previous batches on the payroll.

Hence, the money is not actually meant for fun or charity donation to the N-power employees but a means of lifting some set of people out of excruciating poverty and from the pool of unemployment that have pervaded the country.

As a result of this, if you were smart enough to answer the question according to this analysis, it will not be out of place to start congratulating yourself on the N-power offer that is in the offing for you.

But if it is the other way round for you, don’t loose hope yet, you will only need to increase the intensity of your prayer for God’s intervention.
