The news of hushpuppi’s alleged release from prison has since gone viral on social media. But his lawyer Gal Pissetzky, who is based in chigaco has come out to deny the rumours. The rumours insinuates that Ramoni Abbas, AKA hushpuppi who was arrested for fraud has been released.

This Wednesday July 22, 2022 photo screenshots from the website of the Bureau of Prisons indicating his release went viral on social media.

Going by the details on the website, hushpuppi was released on July 20, 2020.

Gal Pissetzky has responded to inquires by PREMIUM TIMES. He said the bureau’s website showed released, because he is being transferred to California not because he was set free.

Hushpuppi’s case was moved from Illinois to California for prosecution.


Hushpuppi was arrested in Dubai on the charges of Multi-million dollar fraud. On July 3, he was extradited to the United States of America for prosecution.
